Storytelling Experience
During the Spring 2015 semester, I enrolled in a Storytelling class offered by the iSchool at Illinois and taught by professional storyteller Dan Keding. Suffice it to say, I was hooked. The techniques employed through oral storytelling translate perfectly to make effective storytimes, such as the use of pacing and timing to create tension within a tale, the use of repetition and participation to capture and maintain the attention of younger audiences, and creating characterization through voice and body movement (to name a few).
Look below for Storytelling events in which I've participated, and feel free to contact me with any questions!
